Through your airline
Notify your airline or travel agent in advance — ideally at the time of booking your flight, or at least 48 hours before travel, to inform them that you will need assistance during your journey.
Please inform your airline at least 48 hours in advance if you are traveling with a service animal or with your own mobility equipment (wheelchair, electric chair, etc.).
Each airline operating at Tirana International Airport may have different rules and guidelines regarding the booking of special assistance. The airline will then send a notification to TIA to take the necessary measures to provide the required assistance. Passengers are always advised to book assistance as early as possible. Failure to book assistance on time may cause delays and could risk boarding.
However, if you haven’t managed to book assistance in advance, we will make every reasonable effort to help you on the day of your travel.

Visiting the information desk at the terminal entrance
Speaking to staff at the check-in counter
Using the dedicated call points located near the parking area
Arrive at the airport at least 2.5 hours before departure.
We want to ensure that passengers have enough time to go through security screening, reach their boarding gate, and also allow for extra time in case of any unexpected situations.
As soon as you arrive at the airport, request the necessary assistance at the designated assistance area.
You may need more time if you haven’t received your boarding pass yet or if you have luggage/equipment to check in. If you require help with any or all of these steps, please plan for additional time so that we can support you as effectively as possible.
Waiting points are designated areas for you upon arrival in the terminal and at departure near the boarding gate. They are easily accessible and marked with special signage.
However, the assistance staff will always accompany you to all pre-assigned waiting points.
We provide spacious parking areas for persons with reduced mobility to make vehicle drop-off as easy as possible (Parking P1).
Please follow the signage directing you to the designated areas in our parking lots.
